US carrier American Airlines has restores its daily Philadelphia to Dublin service (AAL722/23) effective from Tuesday 4th January operated two class Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The service was operated by N802AN msn 40620. The service was temporarily paused during Christmas festival period from 15th December .
Philadelphia (PHL) is American’s transatlantic gateway and largest North-eastern hub operating on average 413 daily flights that serve 121 destinations in 22 countries. The carrier operates from from Terminals A, B, C and F. According to (PHL) AA was the airport top carrier with 11.58 passengers in 2021 with 70% market share.
Aer Lingus joined the Atlantic Joint Business (AJB) between American, British Airways, Iberia and Finnair last year. This summer Aer Lingus will enable passengers to book American codeshare travel from Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) to Albuquerque (ABQ), Nashville (BNA), Dallas /Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), San Jose, California (SJC) and Tucson (TUS).
In Summer 2022 American Airlines will operate from daily services from Dublin Airport to Charlotte (CLT) using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft , Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) ,Chicago O’Hare (ORD) , Philadelphia (PHL) all using Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The Dublin-Philadelphia (PHL) was inaugurated in May 2003 by US Airways operated by a Boeing 767-200(ER) initially on a seasonal basis before later becoming a year round route. In 2013American Airlines and US Airways merger lead to the retirement of the US Airways brand, as US Airways Boeing 767s where retired from service post merger American Airlines introduced Airbus A330-200/300 aircraft on the route.
