Aer Lingus Boeing 757-200

Irish carrier Aer Lingus today (Sunday 25 March) inaugurated it’s 14th new route to North America with Philadelphia as part of its strategy of building Dublin into a Gateway hub.

Over the last two years five new North American services have been added to Hartford, Los Angeles, Miami, and Philadelphia on the back of IAG investment in a growing fleet adding four long-haul aircraft.

The ingural flight EIN115 was operated by EI-LBS Boeing 757-2Q8 callsign ‘EIN11J’ departing Dublin Airport at 1402 local.  The new nitially four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, from 19 May frequency increases from four weekly to daily  operated by Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

This year Aer Lingus total capacity to and from North America for 2018 will reach 2.75 million seats with an extra 177,000 added as frequencies increase to Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Philadelphia is the 9th most visited city in the United States. It welcomes over 30 million domestic and international visitors annually. Those planning a visit to ‘The City of Brotherly Love’ will be spoiled for things see and do, from visiting the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, to taking in the mural art the city is famous for, and of course, sampling the local delicacy – a Philly Cheese Steak.
