Moldovan carrier HiSky marked a significant milestone with the debut of its widebody operations at Dublin Airport on 1st June, deploying its Airbus A330-243 aircraft on the Bucharest (OTP) route.
Flight HYS257 arrived in Dublin at 20:29 local time, while the return service HYS258 departed at 22:19, both operated by a 245 seat A330 in a two-class configuration registered YR-KID. The widebody aircraft operated in lieu of narrowbody Airbus A320-200 and A321LR models typically used on the route.
According to data from Planespotters.net, the aircraft, manufacturer serial number (MSN) 1138, first flew in July 2010 as F-WWYZ before entering service with Sichuan Airlines as B-6517. In 2022, the aircraft was returned to owner Air Lease Corporation (ALC) and re-registered as T7-L517.
The aircraft briefly joined UK startup Sentra Airways in January 2023 as G-SAHA, though it was returned to ALC within the year under the registration 2-SAHA. It was later ferried to Shannon Airport, Ireland, where it was repainted in HiSky livery in December 2023. The aircraft was officially delivered to HiSky Europe on 19 December 2023 routing to Timisoara, Romania.
