On December 16, ITA Airways transferred its Airbus A220-100, MSN 50075, from the Italian registry (I-ADVB) to the Irish registry as EI-MVB at Rome Fiumicino Airport.

The A220-100, which is configured to seat 125 passengers, is the smallest aircraft in ITA Airways’ fleet, with 10 units currently in operation. The aircraft is primarily deployed on short- and medium-haul routes, including services to London City Airport.

Boasting advanced materials that enhance fuel efficiency, the A220-100 offers significant environmental benefits, reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 25%. It also cuts NOx emissions by up to 50% compared to older aircraft models.

Looking ahead, ITA Airways plans to have 90% of its fleet consist of new-generation aircraft by 2027, solidifying its goal to operate one of Europe’s youngest fleets.
