Fly Vaayu Takes Delivery of Ex-Lauda Europe Airbus A320P2F - IrishAero - Irish Aviation Research Institute

Fly Vaayu, the UAE-based carrier part of Vaayu Aero Leasing, received its latest freighter on October 7, 2024, an Airbus A320-232(P2F), A6-RMA, msn 2288 formerly 9H-LAJ. The aircraft routed from Guangzhou to Ras Al Khaimah on lease from ST Aerospace Resources. Notably, it is the world’s third Airbus A320P2F conversion.

This 20.2-year-old airframe, originally delivered to Qatar Airways (A7-ADJ) in 2014, had a brief stint under Irish registry (EI-GHG) in 2019. The A320P2F was converted by ST Engineering in collaboration with Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) at Guangzhou, China, using OEM-based Supplemental Type Certificates (STC).

With a payload capacity of 21 tonnes, a maximum range of 1,850nm, and a total usable volume of 159m³ (5,600ft³), the A320P2F offers 85% stowage efficiency, featuring 10 ULD container positions and seven in the lower deck.
