A former Aer Lingus Boeing 737-500 returned Cork Airport last weekend operating a charter flight for French Woman’s football team for the France Vs Ireland Euro 2025 qualifiers held on Tuesday 16 July at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
The aircraft registered 9H-MAC Boeing 737-548 MSN 24968 to Comlux Aviation Malta.
The aircraft was delivered to Aer Lingus as EI-BXG in January 1991 and was later re-registered as EI-CDC in June 1991. Aer Lingus restructured it’s fleet in 2004 on Airbus A320/321 platform and subsequently withdrew its Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 737-500 fleets from service.
EI-CDC was sold in 2005 by Aer Lingus to Air Baltic as YL-BBH.
Between 2005 and 2013 the aircraft was operated by Air Baltic, AeroSvit (UR-AAK) and Ukraine International (UR-GBE).
In 2015 the aircraft underwent a VIP conversion and was registered as G-UMAR to Opel Investments and in June 2017 was registered as 9H-MAC to Maleth Aero. Comlux Malta acquired the aircraft in November 2021.
