Italian carrier ITA Airways announced it has significantly enhanced its fleet by adding four new-generation Airbus aircraft within a week, bringing the total to 44 out of 87 in collaboration with ENAC and Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) involved in the authorization processes. The aircraft were promptly made available for operations within a day of being registered in the Company’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) at Rome Fiumicino.
ITA Airways Accountable Manager & Chief Technology Officer Francesco Presicce, said “Our target for 2024 is to introduce 26 new aircraft into our fleet, reaching a total of 96 by year-end. Among these, 67% will belong to the new generation, a figure that surpasses twice the average of new-generation Airbus aircraft in the fleets of other European carriers, currently standing at 32%.”
The four aircraft that have been incorporated into the fleet, include EI-HLC A220-100 msn 50072 delivered 21 March, EI-HOJ Airbus A320neo msn 11982 delivered 27 March, EI-HXC A321neo-LR msn 11729 delivered 22 March all on lease and EI-TYC A330-900 msn 2052 delivered 28 March owned by ITA Airways.
