Ryanair today added the ninth Swedish airport to its route network launching a new route from Girona to Kalmar Airport from 1st April 2013 operating twice weekly on Monday and Fridays for a period of 30 weeks , and expects to carry 30,000 passengers on the route per annum.
Kalmar Airport CEO Ronny Lindberg said “This opens up an opportunity for us who live in the region an attractive traveling internationally as one of the most interesting areas in Spain, above all, it is an opportunity to hit Spanish visitors”.
Kalmar Airport (IATA Code KLR/ ICAO ESMQ) is an airport in southeastern Sweden is located only some 5 kilometers west of downtown Kalmar. The airfield was originally the home of the Swedish Air Force wing F 12 Kalmar.
