Ireland is the third most important international market for tourism in Lanzarote, 174,321 Irish tourists visited the island during 2012 which was a 1.05% increase on the previous year.

Lanzarote was awarded the Best Winter Sun Destination 2013 award from the Irish Travel Industry (ITI) during a gala evening at The Mansion House in Dublin on the 24th January 2013.

The Tourism department of the Cabildo consider that “winning this award reinforces the promotional strategy of Lanzarote, and at the same time defines a privileged position of the island in the Irish market”.
