Aer Lingus Pilot Cadets currently training in Jerez de La Frontera, Southern Spain are hoping to complete a Charity Fundraising Event in February 2016, in order to raise much needed sponsorship for, and awareness of Cancer treatment and rehabilitation in Ireland.
They plan to complete a non-stop,twin engined Seneca Plane Push for 9 hours around the grounds of the flight training school in Spain in order to raise as much money as possible which will be donated to Breast Cancer Research, Sligo Cancer Support Center, and Cancer Care West, Galway. The cadets will also be wearing pink ties as part of our pilots’ uniforms for the month of February.
The 23 Cadets come from all parts of Ireland, England and Germany. The Irish cadets hail from Counties Sligo, Dublin, Westmeath, Meath, Roscommon, Down, Mayo, Limerick, Tipperary, Armagh and Cork.
Breast Cancer Research funds a comprehensive research programme at the National University of Ireland, Galway. In collaboration with universities and hospitals across the globe, the breast cancer research team at the Lambe Institute for Transitional Research at the National University of Ireland, Galway focuses on areas including personalized medicine, breast regeneration, and innovative diagnostics and therapeutics.
