AerCap president sees continued strong demand on operating leases

Ireland-based lessor AerCap has experienced strong demand as low fuel prices have boosted airlines into record-making profits, creating a need for additional aircraft, according to AerCap president and CCO Philip Scruggs. Scruggs told ATW.

Avolon to acquire 45 aircraft from GECAS

Avolon announced that it will acquire a portfolio of 45 aircraft from GECAS. The 45 aircraft, which are scheduled to deliver to Avolon in the second half of 2016, are on lease to 29 airlines in 15 countries.


AWAS expands Dreamliner fleet with first 787 delivery to long-time customer Ethiopian Airlines

AWAS announced that it has delivered one new 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft to the flag carrier of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Airlines. As part of a fleet upgrade solution for its long-time customer, AWAS has agreed to purchase three new 787-8 passenger aircraft from the airline that Ethiopian had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer, and then lease them back to the airline.

Transportation Partners announces Lion Group’s first JOL transaction for one 737-800 on lease from FPG to Malindo Air

Transportation Partners Pte Ltd (“TP”) and FPG Amentum the Dublin-based aircraft leasing company part of Financial Products Group Co., Ltd. announce the delivery of one new Boeing 737-800 (MSN 38303). The aircraft is on a Japanese Operating Lease (JOL) to Malindo Air, part of the Lion Group of airlines.
