 Aergo Capital appoints Lorraine Carew and Stan Barnes as executives


Aircraft lessor Aergo Capital has appointed former Pembroke Capital founder Lorraine Carew as head of commercial operations in a number of management changes. Aergo CEO Fred Browne described the appointments as significant for its business “Our continued investment in the best people underlines our commitment to the delivery of a quality service for our customers”.

Aergo Capital sells one 2001 Vintage A320-200 to Blackrock Investment Management and one 1997 Vintage B737-400 to VX Capital Partners LLC


Aergo Capital has announced the sale of two (2) aircraft as the company continues to reduce the average age of its fleet.  One Airbus A320-200, bearing Manufacturers Serial Number 1626, to Blackrock Investment Management, LLC – Aviation Group. The aircraft is subject to an operating lease with Avion Express, who will continue to operate the aircraft. Blake Morgan acted as lead transaction counsel for Aergo Capital and KPMG acted as tax and accounting adviser. Clifford Chance acted as legal counsel for Blackrock Investment Management. Aergo sold one Boeing 737-400, bearing Manufacturers Serial Number 27673, to VX Capital Partners, LLC. The aircraft is subject to an operating lease with NewGen Airways, who will continue to operate the aircraft.

Avolon adds five banks to acquisition debt facilities for transaction with CIT Group


Avolon announced that it has placed 35% of the US$8.5 billion debt financing facilities, led by Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC (Morgan Stanley) and UBS Investment Bank (UBS), for the acquisition of the aircraft leasing business of CIT Group Inc. Avolon successfully placed US$2.975 billion with five banks: Barclays; JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A.; BNP Paribas; Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank; and SunTrust Bank. The placement was increased from an initial target of 30%.


Falko Regional Aircraft Limited adds six Embraer E195 aircraft to its portfolio from Avolon

Falko Regional Aircraft Limited (Falko) announced that it has added six (6) Embraer E195 aircraft to its portfolio. The aircraft have been acquired as part of an eight (8) aircraft acquisition from Avolon, an international aircraft leasing company, and are currently on lease to UK carrier Flybe.


Goshawk deliver first of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Oman Air

Goshawk announced the acquisition of one Boeing 737-800 aircraft on long- term lease to Oman Air. The delivery is the first of a two-aircraft transaction from Oman Air’s direct order with Boeing, with the second unit scheduled to deliver in November of this year. To meet the airline’s financing requirements, the structured solution arranged by Goshawk was executed within a three-week period from mandate to delivery, demonstrating the agility and dynamism of the Goshawk team.

Standard Chartered in talks on Chinese aviation finance venture

Standard Chartered’s Dublin-based aviation finance unit is a sizable player in the global industry, with more than 100 aircraft on lease to 25 airlines is reportedly in advanced talks over a Chinese joint venture in aviation financing that will aim to help the country’s airlines pay for the $1tn of new aircraft they are set to buy in the next twenty years.
