Irish carrier Aer Lingus restored EI-EDY Airbus A330-302 msn 1025 ‘St Munchin / Maincín’ to it’s UK AOC as G-EIDY. This aircraft was previously operated by Aer Lingus UK from October 2021 till June 2022, returning to Dublin to be operated by parent company to meet demand for growing North American operations.
The aircraft operated its last service 12 March EIN136 Boston to Dublin in preparation for transition to UK registry, positioning Dublin to Manchester 7 April as EUK980. The aircraft positioned Manchester to Shannon for training on 9-10 April, entering service next day to New York as EUK45/4.
For Summer 2023 capacity from Manchester to New York JFK route has been boosted by a massive 72% by switching aircraft from the single-aisle Airbus A321LR to a wide-bodied A330, offering at least 133 more seats per flight.
