Belfast based Jet Assist and Spitfires.com are partnering to bring authentic Spitfire flight experiences to Northern Ireland for the first time, with operations set to begin from Belfast International Airport on 17 November 2026.

The launch coincides with the 86th anniversary year of the Battle of Britain, connecting the iconic wartime fighter with a region steeped in aviation heritage. Flights will showcase Northern Ireland’s countryside and coastline, with extended tours taking in the Antrim Coast and Giant’s Causeway.

Northern Ireland played an important role in supporting the Spitfire programme during 1940–41, with public donations raising more than £88,000, enough to fund seventeen Mark IIA Spitfires.

One of those aircraft was P7823 “Down”, the only Spitfire funded by the Belfast Telegraph. The aircraft operated from RAF Ballyhalbert with No. 504 Squadron from August 1941 until January 1942.

Further details on flight dates, tour options and booking information will be announced soon.
