Aer Lingus announced on company LinkedIn page the carrier completed the Starlink rollout across its fleet of 14 Airbus A321neo aircraft. The airline stated “Another milestone hit today as our M&E team equipped aircraft EI-XLV with Starlink Wi-Fi. That means all of our A321 fleet is now enabled, bringing ultra-fast WiFi to even more of our customers”.
Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer Susanne Carberry stated “Customers are telling us it matters. On Starlink-enabled aircraft, we’re seeing connectivity satisfaction scores 27 points higher than the rest of our fleet, and on average 85% of passengers connect during each flight, often on more than one device. On some transatlantic flights, that’s meant up to 950GB of data used in a single crossing, enough to stream over 300 hours of HD content.”
The Starlink network uses a constellation of over 10,000 satellites in low-Earth orbit, providing low-latency connectivity with potential download speeds exceeding 500 Mbps.
