Spanish carrier Air Nostrum is considering winding down its Irish subsidiary Hibernian Airlines and dissolving the Strategic Alliance of Regional Airlines (SARA) following CityJet’s exit from the partnership. The move follows the loss of Irish carrier CityJet, which exited the group after restructuring under Ireland’s examinership process. Air Nostrum refocussing corporate strategy strictly back onto core Spanish domestic regional operations under the Iberia franchise agreement.

Hibernian Airlines was established in Dublin, Ireland, in April 2017 Hibernian Airlines operating a fleet of three CRJ1000 aircraft as a wet-lease (ACMI) and charter operator backed by Spanish carrier Air Nostrum.
